All I can suggest is have a light breakfast on Sunday, December the 17th, because lunch will more than make up for it.
Josh Greig and his family are hosting this year’s Christmas Lunch again at their home up towards the North Shore. See the menu below and you will see it will be worth the trip up the coast.
Josh’s beach house is located at 55-271 Kamehameha Highway near Pounders Beach. There will be balloons tied to the mailbox. In a follow-up email I will give more detailed directions to the address.
If you subscribe to the “safety in numbers” philosophy, plan on arriving at the Temple Valley Shopping Center between 10:30 and 10:45 that morning. At 10:45 we will leave and caravan to Josh’s house together. This should get us there about 11:30 with lunch served about 12:30.
If you arrive a little late and no one is there…head towards the North Shore and look for balloons.
Because of the enormous amount of preparation that goes into this event, it is necessary to mail your paid reservation to club treasurer Dave Luengen. This year the cost per person is $18; allowing unlimited access to the food table. Just walking past the desserts will be enough to make your blood sugar level soar. Unlike monthly tech sessions where pizzas and hamburgers are the usual, Josh is really going all out to put together a spectacular menu.
One change this year will be how the raffle is organized. Instead of everyone who attends receiving a raffle ticket, this year each MEMBERSHIP will receive one ticket. There will still be an interesting table full of tools and odd bits to pick from.
If you would like to help Josh with lunch prep, you are more than welcome to arrive around 9:30 to pitch-in.
So mark your calendars for Sunday, December 17th and send your check ($18 / person) to:
91-1138 Lanakoi St.
Kapolei HI 96707
Strawberries, Raspberries, Pomegranates , Dried Cranberries
Carrots, Bell Peppers, Lettuce
Thousand Island, Balsamic Vinaigrette, Cesar, Sesame dressing
Vichyssoise Topped with Chive Infused Oil
Confit Byaldi (ratatouille)
Chateaubriand with Demi-Glace or Béarnaise Sauce
Any place that has three different kinds of marshmallows is my kind of place. I plan on filling my plate from the desert end of the table, just to make sure there is enough room for the important stuff.
PS: Here is a suggestion you might want to take advantage of. Membership to the British Car Club of Hawaii is figured from the beginning of the year. Here is the link to the membership application so you can send one check to Dave, including next year’s membership with the Christmas Luncheon reservation.
